These updates would have made continuing to maintain the Gmail service unsustainable.Īfter some communication with Google's team, we were able to keep the two remaining actions without introducing major infrastructure changes. It would have created a lot more overhead than we had before, and the experience for users would have been degraded as a result. The changes being made to Gmail would have required massive refactoring in how we integrated Gmail with IFTTT. Some have even taken over ownership of integrations we originally built in the past. Now m ost services on IFTTT are owned and maintained by the company behind them. Unfortunately, this change means that all Gmail triggers and the Create a draft action will be removed from IFTTT. Every time an email comes in, you can process each one as a task. On March 31st, 2019 Google implemented changes to their API ecosystem that impacted the Gmail service on IFTTT.
